TAT rocks The Penthouse – Again!

The Penthouse, Dec 09

Last night, Two Apple Tobacco rocked The Penthouse for the second time in two months! We had an awesome holiday concert, featuring wonderfully executed versions of our favourite originals, and a host of exciting new covers – Frank Zappa’s I’m The Slime, David Bowie’s Up The Hill Backwards and Tom Waits’ Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis.

In the spirit of the ‘holiday season’ we played a wall-shaking version of The Pogues’ Fairytale of New York and a funkified Hanukkah classic that we had to play twice because people wouldn’t stop dancing.

Our audience also enjoyed the crazy and completely distinct stylings of Flags (featuring lampshade hat) and A-Slam (English-Punjabi Hip Hop with DJ and live drummer). Three lucky audience members went home with door prizes! (Congratulations!)

We dedicated our set to the Climate Change summit in Copenhagen, and to continuing efforts to solve our global crisis. The audience was wonderfully supportive and involved, shouting out ideas and talking with us afterwards about their personal initiatives.

Thanks to Gwyn, Jay, Quinten, Courtney, Jon, Flags, A-Slam and everyone who came out to see Two Apple Tobacco!

Happy Holidays! See you at the next show…
